Happy Solstice! Our bright summer nights are at their apex, and the countdown to winter is on! Grass and gardens are exploding with growth, wildflowers are in bloom and the blueberries have begun to form on the bush. Right now the sun doesn’t set til 2 a.m., and then only hovers just below the horizon before popping back up again two hours later. Husky Hikes are in full swing. We have added a transportation option this summer— we are shuttling guests to the homestead in our dog truck, the same vehicle we use to transport dogs and gear to remote trailheads across the state.

Soon though, the days will grow shorter, berry season will begin, the stars and aurora will return, and finally, snow will blanket the Interior landscape, letting the real fun begin !

Other big news: We are finalizing the trip itinerary for our 2022 April Arctic Basecamp trip. The Arctic blew my mind last spring, with its immense beauty, skies, mountains, wildlife & weather. I cannot wait to share it with you. Stay tuned for more trip details, final dates, & pricing. Tentative dates are April 11-15, 2022. Space will be limited. If you wish to get early bird access to this trip, please send me an email and request waitlist access.

Wishing you & yours a happy Summer Solstice!
