Husky hike beautiful Wickersham Dome in the White Mountains National Recreation Area.
This is a 6-8 hour (roundtrip) husky hike through forest and tundra to Wickersham Dome in the White Mountains National Recreation Area.
We will pick you up in Fairbanks at 10 a.m. and drive together to the trailhead. We will stop at the famous Fox Spring along the way to fill up our water bottles with fresh clean spring water. At the trailhead you will learn to harness your husky, and then together we will embark on a moderate hike through forest and tundra. Your husky will help pull you up the steeper slopes. We will point out wildflowers, trees, and animal tracks on our hike up to the top of the ridge, where vast panoramic views of the Alaska Range and the White Mountains await. We will pick a peaceful spot to enjoy a snack and the the expansive views dominating the landscape.
